Where do most expats live in Cebu and in the surrounding suburbs of Cebu City?

On the island of Cebu Expats can be found all over the island. It seems that many do live in or near Cebu City. There is not one exact area the majority of Expats mostly choose to live.

I'm not sure if you have been to Philippines or not. There are a few areas on Luzon that Expats do seem to congregate more than others, Subic and Angels City. Subic is in a nice location and features lots of Westren type amenities. Angels City less so and is known for it's reputation. Manila is a HUGE city with unmanageable traffic and has major air pollution at times. There are also many Westerners living in or near that city.

Cebu and Mactan Island hosts a large number of Expats. The international airport is on Mactan Island located a few hundred meters off the island of Cebu at Cebu City.

It would be my guess lots of Expats and their Filipina wife ether live near to the wifes family or at least two islands away from the wifes family.

When it comes to Cebu you pays your money and takes your choice. Some live in splendid isolation in the north or south of the island, some live smack in the middle of the metropolis that is Cebu City on top of the major shopping centres and "entertainment" strip. You have to decide which advantages/disadvantages are important to you and to what level of luxury your budget will stretch.

An important point in this middle area is that many, many retired expats who live in this area and have any form of respiratory ailment tend to complain of the air pollution.

I have not been to Cebu for about 4 years and when there stayed in the hotel above Robinsons?

The pollution then was very bad, so it would be even worse now.  Cebu generally though reminds me of an embryonic Manila.

I strongly agree to do with the very poor air quality often found in Cebu City most of Mactan.
