Another party

Being married to a Filipino and living here in England may be so different to many of you who are living in the Philippines, so what happens when you are invited to another party and another and another and another,

There seems to be lots of ladies at these parties but not so many men, it seems there partners have other things to do or bored of being left in a corner while there women are chatting and eating and dancing,

So is it the same over there , and do you seem to get invited to things you know you will hate but you have been put forward by your partner without your knowing, now dont get me wrong i like a party but on my terms,

Karaoke nights come in mind first. I just end up sitting in the corner and drinking beer + surfing the web on my phone.

We don't usually get invited.  We're usually the party host instead....he, he.  As far as music entertainment, I run and hide when someone tries to shove a microphone up my face.  The only musical notes that I could blast out with perfect pitch are F sharp and F flat.

Of course nobody wants to touch the microphone after that.....he, he.

Steve, just get ready brother! :shades: My wife and I are the same age. When we moved back here, turns out all her batch mates have a get together once a month. I used to go to them at first. But as you noticed, I was the only husband. Talking about an ugly wall flower. Now I either drop the wife off or wave from the sidewalk as she gets in a car to go to their parties, these are usually held in a restaurant somewhere. The husbands are no where to be seen.

Jake, I noticed the same thing, most parties are either at a venue someplace or my wife hosts. (she might be proud of her new home and wants to show off, you know, local girl makes good). The only parties we have been to at any of her friends houses are her uber rich batch mates. But as I said above most of the parties are at restaurants.

I decided when I moved here that I'll only do what I want as far as parties and activities go, and if I don''t feel like going to a particular barangay fiesta or party I don't. The best parties are hosted by me anyway, so any others I pick and choose:)  Also, I'm not one to sit off with just a group of Filipinas during a party. I like to mix and talk to everybody, and if I like the liquor that's being served I'll have some too. It's a different vibe here in the province--no restaurant parties here:)
