Hi Guys,

Finally getting back there for a month in November.  Have a one night stay in Manila before moving on.  Any recommendations near NAIA?  I'll be flying out the next day to my initial destination.  Cost around the 2500PHP ($70AUD) mark is the budget.

I've searched Agoda, Trip Advisor etc but on the ground experience would be appreciated.

Just as an aside, currently Singapore Airlines is about $747AUD (I know, 747 right?) Brisbane to Manila return.

Although not in Pasay City, your best bet is going to be the Swagman Hotel in Ermita. It is under new ownership and is beautifully renovated. Best part is when you are an overnight guest, airport pick up and drop off is 100% free. Normal driving time in their van is 15 to 20 minutes. One tip, be sure to reconfirm the airport pick up before leaving home..

Very welcome.. Yea things do change if not here for a while. Overall the country is pretty much the same in most areas.

Again, be sure to reconfirm a reservation at the hotel as well as the airport pick up. Have a great trip..

I stayed at The Swagman years ago.  Used to be pretty seedy, so glad they've done some work on it.

I'll be heading to more familiar territory (Bisayas) the next day.

Cool. Back about 14 years ago I lived down that way on Ticao Island in Masbate province. Very primitive but was a great place to live.

I stayed a couple times at the Heritage Hotel. As I recall 10-12 minutes away from NAIA. Cost $69 USD via Agoda. It's a comfortable room for a one night stay over.

I've actually done it on the cheap and crashed at the airport until an early morning flight. It's doable but I would never recommend it to anyone I consider a friend lol.

Sogo Pasay or Mabini street Malate which is next to Pasay.

10 hours promo rate weekdays only. 485 Pesos.

1400 for 24 hours with no frills. Cable TV AC and hot water.

The Swaggie deal with the transportation is hard to beat.

There is The Remington Hotel part of the Casino complex next to NAIA Terminal 3. They have a free shuttle every hour to and from all airport terminals. Last time I booked them cost was $61.33 USD through Agoda.
