BPI ATM did not dispense any cash. Has anyone else had this happen?

Wow it seems I had good luck with ATMs on the Philippines. Only twice got no money but on receipt it stood no money and never got that deducted also.

Has anyone had problems with ATMs in their home country or is it just in the Philippines? I have never had a problem anywhere.

Seems to me that I_Am_Bob once reported receiving counterfeit money from an ATM but my memory could be fading.

Never had a problem with any ATM outside the Philippines and never trouble in the Philippines except one time while checking my balance the machine took way to long to give my card back. I had an extra card but I would have been inconvenienced getting my card back, but the card was eventually spat back out.

You must have had a large balance. They have trouble with numbers here.

It goes up and down. Sometimes I miss being a wage slave because at least then I had some warning of what to expect. I also passed up the chance to be on a fixed income, but when I thought long about it decided I'd like to have some chance still to improve my lot in life, there have been lean times when fixed income looked not so bad though.

Guess it depends on the branch as we use on a regular basis and have never had a problem, never. BPI is often down for one reason or another, have yet to experience China bank ATM to be down here. Maybe in a big city its different.

I have had problems with ATMs here in Beijing. At some ATMs one can deposit cash as well as making a withdrawal (these ATMs are rather quaintly labled "Cash Recycling Machine").

On one occasion I deposited CNY 6000 (about nine hundred bucks US). The machine made the usual counting sounds and then the cash door opened to show that all my cash had been accepted.

At that point an error message appeared on the screen and the machine spat out my card before powering down. A quick check on an adjacent ATM showed that the cash had not been credited to my account. 

I did eventually get my cash back but it took a couple of weeks and a lot of persistence....

I don't know about cash and likely not but when I deposit a cheque, the ATM puts a picture of the cheque (up to 30 cheques, it says) on the receipt. No envelopes.

The ATMs at casinos are for withdrawals only. Hmmmmm.

The ATMs that I have used for notional withdrawls were China Bank and Metro Bank, no problems with them. The one that took a long time to spit out my card was a BPI.
