Philippine bound

Good morning all,

We are into our last week here in Thailand and looking forward to our new life there in Phils.

Balakbayan boxes on their way (slowly) but no apparent hassles.  Accommodation all in order and meets most of our requirements (except for the stairs) but will have to cope with that.

Will be seeking a motorcycle once we get there, they are very expensive compared to Thailand.  But it evens itself out if you sell, I suppose.  I am not looking forward to the paper battle to transfer ownership, that seems very 'old hat'.

After 5 plus years on this forum, I am not going to the Philippines with 'rose coloured glasses' but am  certain life will be better for us there.  My SO is a native for a start, where as here we are both 'farangs'.  She is also fully fluent of course in the language and that will be great.  I am tired of hand signals, facial expressions and stares here!

I am deeply indebted to the members of this great forum for all the help and advice I have been given over that time.  I feel as though I can fit right in when I get there, but feel sure there will be plenty more questions from me in the future.

Of course there are always difficulties with living in a foreign country but overall, I am sure it will be a better life there.

 A little Off topic but not really, Ron, talk to Dave "H" about a bike he can I feel also help you with the Paperwork.

Do you have a type of bike or price range in mind? By paperwork are you thinking previously owned vs new?
