He had 500 Peso in his wallet.

This statement in the press and other places always gets me thinking, it was reported that he gave his wallet in the end, so if the robbers made off with it how does anyone know what was in it?

 Just asking

Here's the problem, the news outlets each state mixed facts. What truly happened is only known the the victim and his buddy who was quoted in the BBC article in the first post.

My point exactly, It was reported (And I guess the Lady may have known) only 500p + other things.  only 500 on your Wedding Day?

Nah! something is not sitting with me right here, As with so many Stories there will be more to this than meets the eye, I said elsewhere, Unless my wife (Or buddy) had been in my wallet only I would know what was in it.

I have a Suspicious mind brought on by many years with problems of others. I don't think a Scam but a Set up of some sort.

Hope I am wrong, and certainly hope he pulls through but.......... Scratching Head.jpg

Agreed!  This is Philippines.  Many news stories do not sit right.  This one in particular needs further investigation to convince me that the reporter go the story right.

But I will believe that it was a Scotsman, who was soon to be married, and was shot in the chest.  That's enough to get my blood pressure up and if I were a local foreigner in that area I would surely be asking around for more of what happened.  There's GOT to be more to the story.

How often are stories in Philippine news reports factual and in the correct order? Yup, exactly. So when I see a story like this my understanding at this point is, something happened somewhere, possibly to a foreigner who may have been from Scotland. To try and gain more facts from the given information so far is an exercise in futility. Yes the story is also in a western paper but where do you think they got their info from? Remember the foreign terrorist that blew up the casino in Manila? (It wasn't). Remember the worldwide media reports saying President Duterte called Obama's mother a whore? (He didn't).... I rest my case...

I am not going to stand here (ok, ok sitting on my butt with a laptop) and let u malign the Philippine press in that manner Dave. Watch an hour off CNN, an hour of Fox then an hour of MSNBC, you will be so confused as to what's going on, you will sing the praises of the Philippine press :571c66d400c8c_1(103)::hystery:

As I understand the story, from this BBC link (<click on it if you want) His best man Chris McLaughlin was there and told the story to BBC Scotland.  Here is the relevant part that states that.

Quote

. . . His best man Chris McLaughlin, who had flown out bringing his friend a kilt for the wedding, was a short distance away when the attack happened.

Mr McLaughlin, 40, from Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, said: "I heard a commotion and ran over to see what was happening. A guy pulled a gun out and shot Tarek in the chest. Then he pointed the gun at myself."

He said an ambulance was called but failed to show up and they had to travel to hospital in a rickshaw.
Ricocheted bullet

"Tarek's fiancee was trying to call taxis but there was none stopping. I was on the floor with Tarek. He was conscious. After about 10 minutes or so a guy stopped in a rickshaw," he told BBC Scotland.

As we have high expectations that the young man will survive the experience and go on to marry the lass, and as we are looking at the bright side, he will surely be glad the bullet was not aimed at his genitals :Caught:
