Dave Hounddriver Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Just now, WHIPPING BOY said: It is advisable to let your vet perform an autopsy in such cases. That is an interesting idea. I wonder if there are any vets in Philippines who could perform an autopsy and actually have a clue what they were doing. I have not heard of such a thing here. Sometimes it is best to let a treasured pet rest in peace. Nothing would change the fact he has passed, but that is just one man's opinion. I hope Jack's family can move on from this and they have my sympathies.
WHIPPING BOY Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I'm pretty sure a local vet would know the answer to that. I recommend it , even though I of course agree it could be upsetting to the owner, it's the only way to get to the actual cause of death. And if it's what I suspect, or pretty much many other diseases effective preventative measures can be taken to safe guard the other animals on the property or even in the area. I am ''still'' awaiting replies from Philippines vets as to the recommended and legally required vaccinations. Where upon I will put up the info together with some medications I've found effective in several tropical and sub tropical countries.
