Hi All,

I'm after ball park figures on what you spend each month so if you could answer the following it would be great (PHP would be good - it's our common currency):

Town/Province: Valencia

Number of people in your residence: 3

Type of Residence (house, townhouse, unit, studio etc): 3 Bedroom, 2 CR

Rent: p15,000

Electricity: p3,700 (1 - 1.5 Hp Split Inverter Aircon)

Water: p50

Gas (if applicable): n/a

Internet: p1,800 for Globe LTE wireless postpaid 10Mbps speed and 110Gb data

Landline (if applicable): Included with internet

Mobile/Cell: p500 for 2 Globe phones

Groceries (includes booze): p20,000+ (no booze, don't really track it so just a guess)

Car rego/insurance: ? Bike only, still new so haven't purchased renewal insurance yet

Fuel: p600

add p2,000/month for Tourist Visa. That's over but over doesn't hurt for budget planning

add p17,500 a year for Philhealth if you are interested in it.

In your budget questions I dont see immigration costs.  :santa_smiley:

Still tossing up between SRRV - I'm ex-military so the deposit amount is only $1500US - or doing the tourist visa thing but yes, it's a good point.

Bigpearl,

I'll be living comfortably (by my standards) but not on your budget though.  There's members of this forum that live happily on about 36kPHP/month so the immigration cost is not trivial to them and though it's not a deal breaker for me it is something that has to be factored in after weighing up all options:  Tourist visa, SRRV (situation as above) or Balikbayan privilege (not married yet but toying with the idea - those of you that met her, don't tell SAO! (Short Angry One)).  I'm actually grateful to Tom and the others that mentioned it for reminding me of the added cost.

This thread is not just for my benefit that's why I'm after other locations as well so as much input as possible is not only welcome but encouraged and is seeking to establish a baseline of costs that can't be avoided by anyone every month.

As some of you know, I have a background that involved statistical analysis at times (seems almost like a past life now), and although the sample here will be naturally small and inherently flawed at times, it will show certain trends that will assist all potential Philippine expats on this forum to form a reasonable expectation of what they should expect in terms of costs.

Remember, one person's triviality is another's nightmare sometimes.  If you don't want to contribute that's fair enough and I fully understand that.  There's plenty here that are happy to assist though so please don't trivialise their input.

Cheers,

Brett

All ex-military that have served in an "allied" country.

Hi All,

It's been a while since this has been done, in fact when I went looking for the particular thread it actually stated down the bottom to start a new thread as that one was out of date (IamBob's thread).  So here it is:

I'm after ball park figures on what you spend each month so if you could answer the following it would be great (PHP would be good - it's our common currency):

Town/Province:

Number of people in your residence:

Type of Residence (house, townhouse, unit, studio etc):

Rent:

Electricity:

Water:

Gas (if applicable):

Internet:

Landline (if applicable):

Mobile/Cell:

Groceries (includes booze):

Car rego/insurance:

Fuel:

I'm in the process of fleshing out a budget now that my move will be happening in the foreseeable future so any assistance would be appreciated.  I'm going to put it all into an Excel spreadsheet and average it and share it with you all once we have a large enough sample.  I can also see more up to date numbers helping many other members too.  Think of it as a community service project :7500:

Thanks in advance.

Looking forward to reading what you will come up with .

Considering we own the Lot and House and all else is paid up and having no Credit payable we are a very expensive family but Happy, the figures I quote are known to me but as I was saying to friends last week, Money is going out that I have little knowledge of but such is Life.

I know I moan about things to the family but again we are a happy bunch

 Morning All:photo-109:

Best I can do on this. But I am sure it will help:6:

Thanks to those that added medical insurance and vet costs.. Two things I'd forgotten about somehow.   As well as the school fees.. SAO's daughter is in uni.

See, this is working already
