Some oddities in the newspaper report...........

Halasan said it was not clear if the perpetrators rode a motorcycle.  A neighbor, who asked not to be named, said that she heard motorcycles traversing in the place at dawn which was unusual on that time of the day. Police dispatch a tracker team to find the perpetrators.

Dogs can track down a motorcycle?

The crime scene, a rough road surrounded with trees, was at least 500 meters from the Weig’s house. He was probably shot at close range since neighbors didn’t hear the gunshot, according to Halasan.

It makes a difference in the loudness of a gun shot?

Either the dogs have their own motorcycles, or several cops followed the motorcycle tracks to concrete, signed off on a half-day's pay and went home.

I think that's a typically Filipino press way of saying that the shots were probably not fired from a distance, around housing, where people could hear them but in the more secluded area where the victim was found.

It could have been a "Hit" carried out by ISIS members or an affiliated terrorist group such as Abu Sayyaf.

4 out of 10 Abu Sayyef members were killed on Bohol back in April 2017

There has been a U.S. warning out since that time for citizens to be careful or not visit Bohol, southern Cebu, Palawan, southern Negros and specifically Illio & Dumageuste. This warning was in addition to the warning already in place for all of Mindanao since 2016.

I have reading more & more about foreigner's being killed in the Philippines and it has not been restricted to just U.S. citizens because of our War on Terror, I have read about Canadian, German, New Zealander, Korean and Chinese being either kidnapped for ransom or just killed outright.

Everyone please take care and review your personal safety methods.
