As a U.S. citizen wishing to stay in the Philippines for longer than 21 days, what visas are available and how long for each? Is there a tourist visa?

A US citizen can arrive in the Philippines without a visa and stay free for 30 days as a tourist.  You can keep extending that tourist visa at various intervals for up to 3 years before you must leave the country.

To answer what other types of visas are available is an essay type question so I won't mention all of them.  The second most popular visa is a One Year Balikbayan stamp.  You only qualify for that if you are a returning Filipiino or married to one or the dependent child of one and traveling together.

Hope this answers your question.  Lots of info on Visas if you browse through the rest of the forum.

21 days went out a few years ago to be replaced with 30 days which is a visa waiver now but anyway have you read the many topics on visas?
