You got off lightly, we paid 7500 for a ?????? oil change for our 6 month old truck with Nissan lol, wife seems to think it's a good idea to have the most expensive oil.

These warranty rules apply on bikes too. I bought a Mio Aurox in July, first service at 1 month or 500km. After the first month, with 85km on the clock, I duly took it for it's service. I was told not to bother and bring it in when the appropriate mileage was reached. This I did this week and was informed that I had missed my first service so had to have the second one done instead.

 Yes of course but in this case, they were only changed ( Pads) 600kms's before, the rest if the Service was completed

You are throwing away a lot of money if you use costly fully synthetic oil and change it every 5000 km.  It should be good for at least 10,000 km.

For people who like to tinker with a piece of junk, get someone to make you an "owner's jeep" They are cheap because they are made from junk parts by people who don't seem to have any engineering degrees Here is an article about them

I suppose the locals buy what they can afford.

Those of us who enjoy tinkering with 'junk' perhaps do derive some pleasure from fixing things, so that our cars are no longer 'junk', but appreciating classics that have in fact outlived many millions of mass-produced tin boxes long-since recycled into white goods.
