A good sign is a bunch of kids hanging around by your gate.

It is pushing it trying to use it next door ha ha.  Both are uncles and there are no other houses nearby - we are surrounded by rice fields.

Mine's struggles to make it upstairs never mind next door!

Well done that man BUT maybe mark, you will let us know in dues course as and when it comes about you will let us know how your wifes heath either benefits or ( heaven Forbid) deteriorates, I hear plenty of Stories of the deterioration of pinays health when living in the West :89:

Your health is so important & we so often take it for granted & us Expats should remember that to be ill in  the Philippines is likely to get you skint very quickly & then its a flight back to the UK !!

Great news Mark, so glad to hear things are going well. My wife had a similar reaction when she first arrived. Thanks for sharing the good news and please continue to keep us posted.

It is hard to predict what the future holds.

It's exactly that Dave.

Strange to find this thread popping up from time to time, however it's a good example of how the Philippines is not for everyone.

Much as I love the place,  at 70+ my health has to come first.

My wife and quite a lot of the Filipino community here in UK realise the value of the National Health System, and for that reason as they are getting on in years, and many with Diabetes, a return to "home" is now questionable for retirement.

For those who have managed to adjust to the climate in Philippines and continue to be in reasonable good health, I say good luck to you and enjoy every moment......JB
