We are planning a long term visit to the Philippines and are looking at travel insurance, now I know you pay for what you get ,but I hate wasting my hard earned money on what ifs , but I do know I need some sort of cover.

The best I can get is for 1 years travel insurance for the both of us and that would give us unlimited medical cover plus we could be away from England upto 90 days at a time , so our first trip will be for around 3 months and the cost would be £115, to me that’s a great price.

But what happens if I want to stay longer, backpackers can cover me for 4 months but the price goes up to over £550 again for the 2 of us.

I have tried looking but I cannot seem to get past the 90 days away each time, what do other members do to cover this if you are wanting to be away for upto 6 months .

 Tell your Insurer that this may be the case and they will give you new cover when the old one expires BUt they may well do this only once, twice maybe, Trust me Steve bin there and done this

A quick search online suggested it could be extended up to 36 months after an initial 1 year but I'm not sure what company with.  Or how much!
