As people have asked me on another thread I thought I would start a new thread.

I take one of these capsules a day for my stiff joints and they work for me. Fish oil is also supposed to contain omega 3 which is said has benefits as well.

This is what it says on the label.

Salmon oil 2000mg

EPA 360 mg

DHA240 mg

Vitamin E 20IU.

Alaska life premium deep sea salmon oil. Made in California. I think I paid 250 pesos for 300 capsules from Lazada.

Do you people take any, off the shelf, supplements which might be of benefit to the rest of us, yeh yeh I know about Cialis.

I have been taking supplements since my 20's when I worked for a health food distributor.  I have always been off and on with eating a good healthy diet, so I figured supplements could help.  I have periods where I am not very diligent in taking them, but recently I have been taking them consistently.

I'll fill this in tomorrow if needed.  Every morning I take:

1 Multi-vit from Costco / Kirkland

1 Saw Palmetto to avoid those prostate exams that Jake loves

2 Fish Oil capsules

1 garlic capsule

1 Vit D 500

1 80 mg aspirin (not really a vit)

2 Glucosamine / Chondroitin / MSM caps  (three more later in the day)  just started recently.

I never took supplements in my younger days believing that a well balanced diet was sufficient to provide me with all the natural vitamins needed. Things changed when I became a senior. Apparently, the body not longer processes food as efficiently. My primary physician recommended high dosage, over the counter, vitamins D3, B12 and Folic Acid. Add to that prescription medications and I have a small drugstore for our travels. Everything is monitored through annual blood tests. As I age, the doctor wants to increase the monitoring to twice a year. Luckily, Medicare pays the bills.

I've taken regular aspirin tablets daily since around 1996 when I heard it was a blood thinner. I think it's true because when I got a cut it bleed much longer than before I took it. I'm my own doctor so I have to listen to what I say.

Daily

  • Niacin - 1,000 mg (yes, it does equal one gram but I cannot find it in that strength) - Taken per Doctor's recommendation to reduce lipids.
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid - 600 mg and Vitamin B Complex for treating neuropathy in my legs and feet.
  • Centrum - just to be sure that I get what I'm not getting from food.
