Popular Post Mark Berkowitz Posted May 14, 2019 Popular Post Posted May 14, 2019 When I lived in the Philippines, I always consciously converted the pesos into US dollars without speaking to my wife about it. Now that my Filipina wife lives in the USA, she is always converting (out loud) US dollars into pesos, which confuses the heck out of me at times. Anyhow, she has lately expressed her desire to have a tabo over here… why?... IDK.... but I guess that it’s just a Filipino thing (no matter where they live). So, I’ve been shopping for one and when I showed her the price ($7.99), she said “no way!” …. “We’re not paying 400 pesos for a tabo!” 2 5
Tukaram (Tim) Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 In the PIs p400 would be outrageously high for a tabo. Remind her she is not in the PIs ha ha. Like my wife reminds me that I am no longer in Texas. I would think Big Lots or Dollar General might have one cheaper? Still won't be as cheap as over here, but such is life in the big city. 2

TimL Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 (edited) Or maybe just get her a plastic drinking cup from Walmart. I have seen everything from cups to the plastic measuring cap from Tide used. Edited May 15, 2019 by TimL 1
Mark Berkowitz Posted May 15, 2019 Author Posted May 15, 2019 Thanks! You gave me some good ideas. I just made one by cutting off the top of a gallon-sized spring water bottle.
JDDavao II Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 A tabo is a small concession but I'd let her know in no uncertain terms that she will NOT be getting a carabao to ride around town. 1

No problem since she prefers horses and ponies
Gary D Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Just wait until she wants a pair of 100 peso slippers and the cheapest she can find are about $10. 2
