Do you have any suggestions for where to look? And a good place to stay for a week or so with good internet? Get on the "Expats in Bohol and Panglao" Facebook page and search for recommendations. I recall Sunshine Village being mentioned favorably. Good internet is hard to find. I like the Icebear Restobar and Tourist Inn.
Guy F. Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Rent a motorcycle from "Hey Joe Motorcycle Rentals". Don't try to drive at night and wear a helmet and shoes, not sandals. Let me know how it goes!

It's about an hour and a half drive depending on how many Fiestas and funeral processions are going on, or balloon parades Last time I was there traffic was not terrible but not pleasant. Might want to look into some of the outlying cities like Amedeo or Silang..much less hustle and bustle. And close to Manila if you need to go there. Still plenty of open fields so you get a good breeze. My advice is to take your time and look around for more than 1 day. Good luck! I know the place with Buko pies. We bought 30 pies the last time we were there. They are amazing! People line up and wait hours to get them.

Let me know how it goes! Going down there with the asawa and son, so a bike not really any good. I have a motorbike here in Angeles and it may need to go, unless I can manage to afford a car without selling the bike of course!
Greg41 Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Motorbikes? It’s been a long long time for me but I hope that I can get the hang of it once again.

A little 125 cc scooter is about all you'll need here. Fun to drive and cheap on gas.

Cars are available to rent as well. I wouldn't be so cautious about driving at night in a car.
graham59 Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 First time I hired a car here, I did a 500 mile return trip in it, night and day... including crossing Manila from one side to the other, without incident, despite being on the wrong side of the road the whole time !
