The rats shouldn't be able to chew through the steel if you pack enough in first. That sounds like a great idea. Just make sure you use the heavy duty steel wool.

Of Course they will but if the OP can't get access to the Hole conventional methods are not going be much use so Plan "B comes into play do it from the other side as I suggested with Expanding foam, If poison impregnated foam can be sourced then the blighters won't live long will they?

Must be juvenile rats to get stuck in flypaper. Adults would laugh it off. Iv'e tried the rat glue boards from SM Supermarket with no success. Just like a spring trap. The first one gets the poison, the second one gets in free!

Where there is a will there will be a way even if it is Trial and error, usually rats and mice will only venture into the unknown if they sense a Food trail, for me, Clean out the Cupboard with a can of canned Air and remove all traces of anything especially Droppings, then do whatever you can to block the offending Hole/s and hope for the best But if at first and all that
Dave Hounddriver Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Now for the REALLY bad news. The Philippines is full of snakes who like to eat rats. Rats urinate everywhere as they walk. They follow each other's trail of urine and rat snakes are often close behind. Such was the problem I had in a rural area of the Philippines. But you may be in an urban area without snakes. I learned that it is necessary to thoroughly clean the path the rats have been following if you have a problem with snakes. Of course, the snakes may just cure your rat problem so it's up to you.
BrettGC Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Rats are rats no matter where you are. Clean up what attracted them, then lay down some sort of rat poison. Remember that if you do this, their bodies are going to attract other vermin so as soon as you find a dead rat, dispose of it in a timely manner, preferably off your property so as to not attract aforementioned vermin. Rats are like cockroaches: If you see one, there's probably 20 more hiding somewhere.

The "canine" teeth were around an inch long!
