sonjack2847 Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I think we must all remember we are introducing things to their lives which they have never known before, so there might always be a clash. This doesn`t have to be a problem if they are willing to take advice from a lot of us who have been in similar situations before.

SWMBO and I have inside slippers and outside slippers (with a rack at the door). It is a continual source of amusement to the family that I often forget to change from the inside slippers to the outside slippers and sometimes don't notice until I've been at the mall for hours. Edited July 2, 2019 by GeoffH

I guess I feel very fortunate in that L accepts most of my advice - especially regarding things with which she as little to no experience. She is very smart, though, and is great at guiding me through the labyrinth of Filipino customs which I am still learning - although slowly. The worst she does to me if I say no, is to look at me and she does a great "puppydog look" as she tries to persuade me otherwise. Yeah... sometimes that even works. I am soft-hearted mostly...

I wish that were all I forgot to do! I suffer from deja vu amnesia - that's the state where I get the feeling I have forgotten something before...
