Sorry... that's just my opinion...

So if they were not dirt bags they were accomplices to dirt bags..same thing.

Here is why I do not have such a low opinion of "dirtbags".  I would not have come to the Philippines and spent a dozen happy years here if not for a couple of dirtbags.  Every cloud has a silver lining.  The filipina Internet scammers were not yet a "thing", a dozen or more years ago, but they still had ways to scam people.  Here was my story, in brief.

I met a fellow in Canada who got to be a close aquaintance.  We got to be as close as two people get before they actually start to call each other "friends".  I won't call him a friend.  Not now.  But he did give me a considerable amount of first hand knowledge about the Philippines and filipinas and his gorgeous wife and her sweet sister.

At that time, Yahoo groups were the primary forums and I learned what I could, while getting to know his wife's sister by email and send her money.  I had actually booked my vacation and plane ticket before my "close aquaintance" admitted to me that his wife's sister was a scammer and a slut and he was sorry he got me involved with her.

Well too late to cry about spilt milk so I came to the Philippines anyway and fell in with a GREAT bunch of foreigners who showed me the ropes.  Within my 8 week vacation I was in love and sold on the Philippines.  I went back to Canada for 2 months to retire from my job and hurry on back to Paradise.  It was during that time that I met the 2 guys I mentioned who let their live-in gfs chat with guys online.  How could I fault them?  I had been a victim myself but it led me to paradise.

That's a nice story, Dave, thanks for sharing it. Maybe I missed something, but I don't get quite what the two guys had to do with your relationship? It sounds like you did not end up with your acquaintance's sister? Sorry... I always get lost in movies nowadays because they move faster than my mind .

Anyway, however it worked out, I am happy for you that it did work out for you! It sounds fortunate that you fell in with a good crowd of supportive ex-pats - like these guys here on the forum!

For me, when you can start to justify such "business opportunities" you've been here too long and lost the sense of right.  That said, It's not harming me nor mine so whatever.

I suspect the OP was not entirely serious in his seriousness!
