My local sari store only sells the thin bendy blades, not the rigid ones.  Alas.

The barber in the local shop just outside our subdivision uses the old style thicker razor blades in a version of a cut throat razor.  He keeps a box in the draw.

I have to get a hair cut/beard trim in a couple of days according to SWMBO.

You've made me a bit curious so I'll ask where he gets them.

Individual razor blades are still elusive

Supermarkets usually have single style razor blades. We buy them so not hard to find. GF uses to trim around eyebrows.  These type?

As for the rest of the list I think all is available in Cebu city.

Rustans

Landers and Robison supermarkets for most.

Oh don't get me wrong, I ended up finding most of these things.

Yes its true often times its because the SO never heard of it, and doesn't know where to look haha.

Individual razor blades are still elusive.  Perfect for scraping old ugly tint off your car windows.  Yes I made do with other types of blades, but when I find some good-old razor blades I'm buying the whole box :)

I know a place in Cebu City that stocks safety blades both Feather and Polsilver

I think he might be talking about the single edge type that are good for projects.  I think my barbers do get them somewhere.

List up the things that you had difficulty finding at first, or still can't find, or have an unusual craving for.  We've all been there, so it will be fun to compare!

-real mayonnaise

-bagels

-chapstick

-Corona

-ketchup

-good beef

-Tums

-protein bars

-lunch meat

-cheeses

-individual razor blades

-anti-sieze compound for threads

-fuel resistant RTV

-3/8" drive ratchets / sockets (but a lot of 1/4 and 1/2 everywhere)

We have all of those food items here at Royal Duty Free, except for bagels.  I think they have some frozen bagels though.

Good beef is available frozen at Royal but the prices for a good steak are sky high.  Better off finding a resto that offers a good steak.  I buy 1/3 lb frozen sirloin burgers from California at Royal.  They are not cheap either but about $12 for 8, not too bad.

I'm on a keto diet so I'm eating a lot of eggs, meat and cheese.  Royal has a good selection of cheeses.

All of the barbers I have used in the Philippines take a double edged, standard razor blade, available just about anywhere, then the break it in half to use one side at a time, inserted into a switchblade type holder.  Thrifty lot they are.

Agree, every barber shop has those.  But I am wondering if when the OP says single style, he means what we in the USA call a single edge.  Only one edge, and very useful for scraping labels, cleaning paint off glass, etc, and less danger of cutting your fingers when using them.  Also the metal of the blade is thicker and stronger than the double edge blades so it does not flex.
