True story.

Shortly after my return to the USA from a trip to the Philippines, I went to a mexican restaurant.  When the waiter took my order, he asked what to drink, and without really thinking I said "San Miguel Pilsen".   Yikes!!!  The guy thought I was making some kind of racial joke and started to get upset.  I had to explain and then ordered a Dos Equis.  Not sure if he really believed me but it seemed to defuse the situation.

Most of my 'Western Essentials' went into several Balikbayan boxes, and are now safely distributed around (or helping to hold up  )  my house.

try the Super Dry. And it is not expensive either.

Im a San Mig light drinker. Last week ran out of stock at the bar so tired Superdry. To me tastes just like Pilsen so glad stock arrived the next night.

Sipping one right now, after working on the truckster all day.  Yummy.

Another one I sometimes buy is that Taiwan beer....Tiger maybe?

My dad used to drink 'Tiger' beer when we lived in Malaya and Singapore, back in the 1950s.

I have to presume it was a good brew, with him being  Royal Navy .

I'm really not that picky - several local beers taste good to me. If I have the choice, I will order SM Light, but Pilsen, SuperDry and even Red Horse if I am looking for a speedier kick. All great chasers, too, for the Tanduay!

Cold, refreshing beer on a hot day (almost every day here)? Not much better than that!

The stuff here is brewed by San Mig in Manila.
