Because Canada is further north than U.S. Of course that is why Canada is higher....

graham59 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I think some here are confusing IQ testing with 'knowledge'. All I can say (honestly) is that I do NOT live up to my supposed IQ of 130+ , and actually consider myself pretty dim...especially by comparison with my very bright and successful siblings. You've got use that brain in the 'correct' way too, I suppose .

I will just say that: With all the High IQ expats retiring in the Philippines, one would think we would bring up their average. 1

I guess we are not so smart after all. However, with most of South East Asia scoring very high, the Philippines looks to be the lowest on the list. How can that be? Maybe that´s a slight exaggeration???? It´s only Singapore in SEA that has a higer score than the typical expat countries. Last time I checked, Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan didn´t belong to Southeast Asia. As far as IQ goes, I believe there is different kinds of intelligence. A so called intelligent western person would not survive many days in the djungle but the "unintelligent" bushpeople do without problems.

Or your reaction could just be "butt hurt" because Sweden is further down the list than you would like it to be. Funny how people get when their IQ is mentioned. Not feeling "butt hurt" here I just pointed out something I thought was wrong, you said, MOST of Southeast Asia scores higher for average IQ than the countries we expats come from. I found only one, Singapore. Dont feel any need to defend Swedens place in the list, why would I? But I cant help to wonder who is feeling "butt hurt" when their statements are being disputed
Jake Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Is there a test for basic common sense? 2

I just know of the tests (which I used on myself): Here's just two of the them: Did it really make more sense for me to stay in the Philippines (as an expat with no rights) than returning back home where I have real rights as an actual citizen? Also, did it make any sense for me to stay in a foreign country where even if an ambulance was able to get me (through all of the traffic on the way) to a hospital, wouldn't it be better for me to get to a hospital immediately (in my homeland) and have a better chance of survival? 1
