Electric bikes

Another thing I have notice since my last visit here are electric bikes sort of like a motorbike, there are many 3 wheelers and a smart looking 2 wheeler but a little long.

I am not to sure what the batter life is like or the distance it can go either , I h ave seen the older person on the 3 wheeler with a partner going around the open market and the other one seems to be the younger person but I could be wrong.

I have been thinking of this too, maybe will get an electric scooter once I am there, if it´s possible to find one?

They are all over the place but I don't know if any are quality brands.  Mostly cheap China stuff.

And where do you find parts or mechanics to repair them when they break? I would think that is perhaps the most important consideration?

I had one, a California e-bike.  It cost us 19,000php and wasn't the best purchase ever, nor the worst.  Suspension wasn't great and I frequently had to tighten bolts and replace the odd few too.  It lasted about 2 years before the battery gave up the ghost.  Could have replaced it but decided to give it to the family - needless to say, it's still sitting there awaiting a new battery 18 months on - I suppose they were/are waiting for me to buy it!  I would struggle to recommend one t.b.h.
