silly me thinks wow only 48 peso but thinking only 48 English pence

I like how even the locals seem to get the peso confused.  At low levels they act like they are American cents - 'p99 meal!'  (it ain't a 99 cent meal).  But at higher levels they think a peso is a dollar - 'grand prize 1 million pesos!' (not even enough to buy a Toyota, or a decent house).

You could buy a new Toyota Wigo, Yaris, Vios, Avanza , Rush or Hilux (in varying specifications) for 1 million peso.

Depending upon the exchange rate...I'm either poor, or extremely poor.  :867:

True, but they act like it is a million dollars - which would buy you a house, a car, and still tons of money. At that level they like to act like a peso is a dollar ha ha

My wife tells me the same thing, but after six years everyone in Moalboal knows that she is married to a Kano. :89:

They all know of her as..... "Married to a RICH Kano" :whistling:
