Happy New Year!

Here in the provence the fireworks seemed to go on for hours last night.  As I was watching and listening, I started to think about how so many of the people here eat corn because they cannot even afford to buy rice, but they seem to be able to buy firecrackers and rockets.

Happy New Year!

Here is a video of the fireworks at the Auckland Skytower, which is 9.5 km from the house here.  The weather was clear and the new camera worked well, but was fooled a few times when the tower fireworks flashed.  I probably wave a setting to hold the focus but don't know how to use it yet.

For sure...I made a countdown calendar that I put on my wall at work. It started 3 years ago....and this will be a busy year.
