Its unfortunate they cannot just be processed in Manila, because of the time delay. I wonder if we could have chosen a different Schengen country with more robust embassy services, but I didn't want to waste time on the 1 day we had available in Manila. Will keep an eye out for Porn emails, haha! I think a lot of countries are cutting costs by outsourcing to companies like VFS.
Marvin Boggs Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 Well, if we are successful with this, then at least she may get a Sweden and Denmark passport stamp. I'm assuming with Schengen approval we could then have confidence about visiting other Schengen countries. Maybe that would eventually help with the US visa situation. Gary D Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 I believe you must apply at the first country of entry then can travel throughout the schengen area.

Normally yes, but you can apply at a second country if most of your time will be spent there. E.G., fly to Amsterdam but most of your time will be spent in Germany. You can apply to Germany. 7 hours ago, Marvin Boggs said: Well, if we are successful with this, then at least she may get a Sweden and Denmark passport stamp. You applied with Sweden so you are flying into Sweden, right? As Gary said, that is the normal way. So you might get a Sweden entry stamp. After that, there are no more borders within the Schengen countries, so no more border stops or stamps, so you can drive around freely. If you fly to another Schengen country, they probably just glance at the Schengen Visa in your passport.
Marvin Boggs Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 I didn't think it through well enough before hand. Its actually easier to fly into Copenhagen and take the train to where we are going. But since we didn't apply to Denmark, it sounds like maybe I should just plan on flying into Stockholm. Marvin Boggs Posted January 20, 2020 Author Posted January 20, 2020 Update: Visa was granted and arrived ahead of schedule. Should have requested more than 4 days but that's all we actually needed for the meetings I have. Looks like they would have granted more. This really lifted her spirits after the US Visa debacle. 1
