bows00 Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 If you've spent enough time in the bigger cities, you will know what I mean. Especially where the side walk real estate is limited and the passing lanes are squezingly narrow. More often than not, I find myself stuck behind the typical Filipino whenever I'm walking to my destination. Is it the slippers? Or is it the "laid back", "not in a hurry" culture here? I'm still learning to adjust to these small details.

Popular Post Gary D Posted January 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 12, 2020 If you are 4'11" your stride is going to be far less than if you are 6 '2" . Simple physics. 6

Maybe they worry that walking faster might get them to where they are going on time, instead of Filipino time? 1

Popular Post Marvin Boggs Posted January 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 12, 2020 I joked that we should start a sandals shop for all the missing sandals we see in random places. Presumably they fall off people's feet while dangling from a motorcycle. Funny story, wife was riding the jeepny, and all the oncoming jeepny drivers kept honking and waving to tell her driver something. Turns out they were warning him about an upcoming traffic stop, where they were checking to make sure the drivers were wearing shoes. 4

Unlike us westerners who only go to a shop and know exactly what we wont. So a quick in and out.
