We all have our own 'natural' gait.

I have tended to 'stride out' all my life, whether in a hurry or not. Probably encouraged by smacks round the ear from military parents, when 'dawdling', as a child.

I still do here in the Phils, when there is a clear path ahead. The energetic walking (and cycling) have I believe helped to keep me fit and healthy, leading up to my 70th birthday next year. :chickendance:

we worship and are tuned to the speed and efficiency of modernity.  In many areas of PI living, they are running on B.F (before Ford) time.

I agree with you mostly... except here they are on Toyota and Yamaha time. They may walk slowly, but that's not how many of them drive...

I have been known to just wear my flip flops when just popping out to get something. So are you saying you can't drive in flip flops.

You can drive in flip flops. I do it every day. If a traffic officer want's to get technical he can charge you with that also. But when you hand the traffic enforcer his grease money, he doesn't even notice what you are wearing.
