Well there we was just sitting having a nice cup of tea in the house and the gate swings open and in walks this schoolgirl dressed in her blue and white uniform, she walks up the drive to Ems father and this bloke and starts talking.

Well who is she I asked and the next minute Ems is at the door asking this girl who is she and why is she here, her answer she was visiting her Lola , are you telling me the truth Ems asked and how old are you, well she was 14 and no it was not her Lola but he is a friend of her gramma and he said to her to come and see the house.

This upset Ems and myself but it went over the head of the FIL and this bloke who has been warned about bringing other girls to this house by ourselves, but our thoughts seem to have been overridden by someone else, well the girl was told that never to visit the house again and what’s peed me of is that the father never spoke to Emma all that day.

I am seeing more things happening in this household that I do not like , but it has made my mind up firmly about my future plans involving this family .

We have all read the stories and may have seen the older gent walking arm in arm with the younger lady but have you ever seen a  Filipino man with a younger lady .

Over the last week there has been this person coming to the house in the mornings  to see the FIL and they play chess over a few cups of coffee , when he is here a young girl comes over to see him and I thought it was his daughter anyway it turns out she is not his daughter but his girlfriend, I don’t think she is 17 years of age and he is in his late 50s early 60s, this gent also has a female companion who is mid 30s.

Anyway once I found out about this girls young age I told Emma that we must stop her coming to the house and we have I have not seen her for over a week now, I was shocked at first but it’s not my country and who am I to say something , but something like this is not happening in the house or grounds that I am in.

Good move on not letting her come to your house. Don't let yourself be put into a precarious situation. Nothing but trouble.:clapping_80_anim_gif:

I suspect that many of us here who do not spend much time with our families would see things they don't like.  Actually. come to think of it the same would apply with my family back in the UK.  The longer you spend with them, the more faults you will see.  Good that you've made the decision about your future here before too much harm done.

I've noticed that the Philippino family I married in to is constantly asking for money. Have any of you experienced that? I don't have that much money so at some poi t I have to put my foot down.

I think most people have experienced it at some point, at least from some family members.

Most of my family are good but there are a couple of useless  ones... who initially asked for small amounts... then kept asking... so I stopped giving and now they don't ask anymore.

The closer family members know that if it is a real emergency, say one of the children is sick, then I will try and help.  But they also know we need to see receipts and they know not to ask for just bills or wants.

We've sort of reached a balance...

I doubt anybody here has experienced it - must just be you.

Did I read this correctly?  So Legally, I am not allowed to bring any Filipina 10 years younger than me back to my hotel?  If so, man... I am guilty - 10 times over.

There has been considerable debate on this subject.  It is important to keep in mind that the sole purpose of the act is to prevent child abuse, child prostitution, and trafficking of children.  Also earlier in the act is this definition:

Sec. 3. Definition of Terms. -
(a) "Children" refers to person below eighteen (18) years of age or those over but are unable to fully take care of themselves or protect themselves from abuse, neglect, cruelty, exploitation or discrimination because of a physical or mental disability or condition;

As long as the person you are with is over the age of 18 you SHOULD be okay.  Also "she said she was over 18"  is not a valid defense.   I THINK the purpose of that section is for persons 12 to 18.  Just my opinions of course, and I have no intention of testing out my interpretation. :popcorn:
