Hi.  I have a family member who lives in Manila that suffers from Anxiety and Depression.  I'm looking for the best Psychologist or mental health institution money can buy.  I am serious.  There must be places where the wealthy go for very personalized and effective help.  Thank you.

You might be able to check which Specialists the best hospitals there have and choose one of them as a starting point.

I agree with HK... Perhaps start with St. Lukes or Asia Hospital? They are USA accredited and offer first-world class services.

I think any good GP can help with antidepressants or advice of who to see.

I thought it was more nuanced that that... some antidepressents were illegal?

Watsons have a page about them but I pressume they're prescription only (and they might require seeing a doctor that's allowed to prescribe them like only pain management specialists can prescribe certain pain killers).

Not sure.  I remember chatting with my GP (he loves to talk!) a few years ago and thought I remembered him saying that stimulants, like some diet pills, and antidepressants are illegal.

A doctor in the Philippines can prescribe valium.  It can be a dangerous antidepressant in the wrong hands.  A fellow I knew went a bit nuts using valium and booze together.

I doubt that prescribed antidepressants would be illegal. How do they deal with this as its a common problem world wide.
