His base pay last year was 25,000/month for them. He won't find any trouble recruiting staff at that rate.

His management philosophy has made his business a success. I recommend his restaurants. They are called "Buddy's." Located in Quezon province and the NCR area. Food is good. I think he's got it right - happy staff stay with the company and this in return is more than likely going to help with customer loyalty. A pity more employers here don't share his views.

A pity more employers here don't share his views. Getting a bit off-topic, but I have a friend who owns a nice resto and was supposed to be opening a second when the lockdowns started. I'm under the impression he pays his employees well and it shows in the service. His manager has been with him since they opened several years ago, and many others have been there a long time. It killed him when had to close and lay everyone off. He got a delivery business going and was able to pay the bills. Then he was able have dine-in with the limited occupancy, spacing and other COVID requirement. He said he is maybe breaking even now. His key staff is back almost full time, but for the waiters, busboys, etc., he has them rotating so they all get some work. His second resto is brand new, built from the ground up, ready to go. That big investment is just sitting there, waiting to open. His landlord is giving him some break on the rent.
