Does anyone know what documents I need to leave and fly home ?  Various people have said , Baringay permit to travel , health clearance from the municipality,  police clearance,     i will be flying from Legazpi to Manila then Manila to London.

Its getting so complicated it feels like I'm in Hotel California,  " you can check out any time you need but you can never leave "

Any help greatly appreciated.  Thanks guys.

I think no one replies because things keep changing from one area to the other but in the past your advice on requirements I think are correct. Best to check your local area. Also dont forget your Exit clearance certificate from immigration.

Cheers mate , I knew about the exit clearance. Any idea if you can stay in Manila a night or two before international flight  ?   Going the same day is tight. I did email the embassy but just got a standard reply with links to things I already know.

Thanks for your reply mate

From what I know there are different rules for domestic travel vs international travel. If you booked your trip as 2 separate tickets, one ticket to Manila and one ticket to London, you may need to follow the domestic travel requirements, so to be 100% sure you need to check with your origin/destination barangays.

Valid 4 weeks ago:

* To leave your LGU, you normally require:

- A certificate from the barangay office. For that, they required me to get a certificate that I am not a PUI/PUM, which I got from my condo administration office.

- A health certificate. For that, you need a chest xray (there's usually a lab near the hospital where you can do it, results are given right away or the next day).

- The police certificate. For that, you need to show the police all of the above. It should take one day to process (come again next day to receive it).

Each LGU does it a bit differently so as mentioned earlier, double check with the local gov tourism office.

* In Manila:

You can stay in Manila before your flight and book your hotels regularly (booking.com etc). Don't expect much from Airbnb since most condos do not accept short term (or even long term) tenants. Many hotels accept guests, you do not need a 'special' hotel.

* Airport and flight:

To enter the NAIA airport, you need to show the health certificate you attained above. It is valid for 2 weeks.

Some airlines require a covid test. Check the following post (incl. the comments) for the details: https://www.facebook.com/MIAAGovPh/posts/1679223228910114 . There are various labs in Manila that do it with quick results (2-3 days or less), for a fee of $100-$150.

* Exit clearance:

If you stayed over 6 months, you need one. If you stayed less than 1 year, you can get it at NAIA, it is done right before you pass through passport control. I.e. you don't need to go the airport early to sort out your ECC. You just go through passport control, they send you to the immigration cashier counter (which is right there), you pay for your ECC and you go back to passport control and exit the country. It costs about 1100p assuming you have no unpaid fees (your visa and acr are in order etc). You do not need to actually show your ACR card (at least in my case, he didn't ask to see it).

Hello.

Your comments are appropriate. Hotel Caifornia indeed. The information is often so contradictory it raises the question who can we trust to be accurate.

Your concerns probably need to be correctly answered for many of us ex-pats. We all have heard of horror stories of ex-pats being told they could be repatriated, only to subsequently be detained in Manila or Hong Kong.

I'm originally from Ireland and need to return there for a visit ASAP. I'll check with a Filipino attorney friend of mine who works in that area of law. I'll let you know what he says. No guarantee  of a favorable outcome but I'll try.
