Now try to pull it off in Florida, you will immediately requested by store employees, cashiers and even other shoppers to cover your nose! No exceptions. That said, there is no smoke without fire. As America sets itself up as the global policeman, leader etc etc it has to be whiter than white and do better than anyone else - it isn't and hasn't been in terms of Covid management. For balance, neither is the Philippines nor my own country, the UK. I try not to make snapshot judgements - the UK has gone from zero to hero and may well end up back to zero soon - this is a marathon and not a sprint. Two weeks after receiving both doses, vaccinated Israelis were 95.8% less like to fall ill from Covid-19 and 98.9% less likely to face hospitalization or death. 100,000 doses of Pfizer BioNTech vaccines will be shipped to the Philippines after the company receives an indemnification agreement. Total order is 900,000 doses. The original shipment date was February 12 if the indemnity had been provided earlier. BrettGC Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Well the rollout of the Pfizer and Astrazeneca vaccines started in Australia today - mainly PR shots etc but it starts tomorrow in reality. In Queensland I'm going to be categorised into the the third highest priority, over 50 and type 2 diabetic (non-medicated as yet). So amongst a state population of just over 5 million I can reasonably expect my first jab, of either type, around May with the second dependent on which version of the first I had. Being married to a filipina, I'm already allowed entry into PI, but depending on airline requirements, government requirements, quarantine with the vaccine, vaccination rates in PI (herd immunity or it's a pointless exercise given that you can still shed when vaccinated) and individual provincial requirements, I'm still no wiser as to when I'll be able to enter without quarantine. Airlines, national governments, and provincial authorities all have to to work together for any sort of workable system to be viable; something which the Philippine government doesn't exactly have a great track record with, particularly with changes to immigration and entry and communicating said changes. Brett, did you see the vaccination card they were waving about, shorly their not fair dinkum, even blind Freddy could forge that. It is to be added onto the NHS app we all use now for track and trace International travel is supposed to be reopened 17th May for tourists Bit sketchy about timings yet but to run alongside easing of restrictions which are due to be lifted totally in June Seems like everything could be in place by then for our end. Need Philippines to get in gear now I can hear the negatively arriving and agreed in advance. They may let us in. I didn't think the UK would open to tourism so soon, although it makes sense being in the top five countries vaccinating their residents. Yesterday, by coincidence, British Airways sent me a digital voucher for $1,557 for a cancelled flight last year due to the pandemic. They were steadfast in refusing a cash refund.
