I know that in Thailand the Govt. has stated all will get equal access to the vaccine but that's vague enough to leave room to charge some and not others IMO.

Access is one thing, cost is another and for who.

I guess the next thing to consider is those of us living here on a tourist visa could be looked at as in we should go home to get the vaccine as we are only tourist and not permanent residents.

Here in Iloilo, they are taking donations to buy the AZ vaccine and have placed an order for it.  But, not all of us will get that "premium" option and we will have to take what's available.  Many are unfortunate enough not to be able to choose and faced with a choice of Sinovac or nothing, I'll take Sinovac.  Unfortunately, we cannot ignore the political aspect of the Sinovac vaccine which will impact it's acceptance here.

I agree HK blues. My eye doctor, whom I have a lot of respect and faith in, took the jab this week.

Cebu Doctors’ Hospital Group owner, Dr. Potenciano Larrazabal III, was among the hundreds of front-liners who took the CoronaVac jabs on Tuesday.

Larrazabal, a well-known eye specialist, said getting any available vaccine would help the population to achieve immunity against coronavirus disease.

Yep, no matter how cheap/expensive the vaccine may be won't matter if it's not available.

I take you point about tourists but as the Govt. here are fully onboard with that system I think it would be disingenuous to make a difference based on that - that said, if the Govt. here want to start moving away from that kind of system then that could be a start.  Again, IMO until we are all safe nobody is safe so jagging all is the way forward.  The UK has recognised this and has decided to even jag illegal immigrants.

Newsflash -

"BEIJING (AP) — In a rare admission of the weakness of Chinese coronavirus vaccines, the country’s top disease control official says their effectiveness is low and the government is considering mixing them to give them a boost.

Beijing has distributed hundreds of millions of doses in other countries while also trying to promote doubt about the effectiveness of Western vaccines.

It’s now under formal consideration whether we should use different vaccines from different technical lines for the immunization process” Gao said.

Yep.  It's a moving picture and we all need to adjust and adapt accordingly.  I'm good with that.

I simple believe that the Philippines should reciprocate wherever possible and vaccinate as many foreigners as possible regardless.  I'd be willing to go to the back of any queue/line but hope I'd get the jag eventually for free. Hope being the operative word.

Agree.

It is simply petty nonsense for ANY country to disbar those living there from receiving an anti-Covid vaccination, whatever their nationality or immigration status. This is about saving lives and fighting a pandemic !

Reasonable. But remember where you live.

Yup.  I also think it is absurd petty nonsense to ban kids under 3 from beaches and water parks, but after one year plus of lockdowns, someone decided that was a good idea to start last month.

Will it simply come down to money? Those willing to pay may get access to vaccine before a free government provided distribution is allocated?
