The CDC announced that fully vaccinated persons can travel.  Yes!  No need to feel guilty about it.

Americans are gonna be shocked then, when they get to the Canadian border.  Nope.  Go home.  Still closed to you. :56da64b64cbd8_36_6_31:

Canada, like the Philippines, is on hold in our bucket list.  In the meantime, the US government has agreed to "loan" the Canadians 1.5 million doses of Astra-Zenica from its stockpile while waiting for this vaccine to be approved by the FDA.  If the borders reopen sometime in the summer, we are considering taking our motorhome to the Canadian Rockies.  My wife and I will reconsider the Philippines as a possible destination for Christmas and beyond assuming it reopens.  There are already 90 countries welcoming Americans and the US dollars that will be spent in their local economy.

Looks like Astrazenica may be making more news tomorrow.  Hot off the press:

One of the European drug regulator's senior officials today claimed there is now a 'clear' link between AstraZeneca's Covid vaccine and potentially deadly blood clots.

Marco Cavaleri, head of vaccines at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), said that CVST — a brain blockage that can lead to a stroke — was occurring more often than expected in younger people.

But he admitted that the body was still baffled about how the jab may trigger the rare complication.

EMA officials are already probing the link between the vaccine and CVST, which is more common in young women. Watchdog bosses are expected to make a formal announcement tomorrow.

One of the UK govt medical gurus said the probability of him dying with Covid, given his personal situation, was 1 in 13,000 whilst the probability of dying as a result of the blood clot was 1 in, 1,000,000.

Thus the advice is to take the vaccine if offered.

Luckily, living here we have the luxury  of being able to sit back and see what the next few months brings.

They're not doing themselves any favours by releasing statements before they have the facts.  Many people are cautious of listening to Governments due to the regular lies they get fed, so when a problem raises it's head and within 24hrs the experts that are paid for by the manufacturers tell you everything is safe few believe them. Now they appear to be drip feeding information almost as if to lessen the blow.

The blood clots are obviously a major issue that could spoil your weekend especially if you are a younger female and it wasn't picked up in trials, and denied until recently so what's to say there isn't a ticking time bomb ready to go off any time in the near future that the experts also never expected?

Now experts with way more experience in vaccines are saying as it's mutating at a fast rate we may need a whole armoury of vaccines. At the rate vaccines are rolling out here it will be a few years before the population gets one vaccine never mind multiple and as the vaccines are new no one knows if one will react to the other.

Fair points.

I think we all knew that the speed of the vaccine trials and subsequent releases was done faster than we would have liked but needs must.  I'm pretty sure there were caveats around the trials and releases but these were not what anybody wanted to hear so got lost somewhere along the line.

Ultimately, it's a moving picture and we can but react to developments and, as long as the benefits outweigh the risks then we should not cease using the vaccines, rather adapt the range of vaccines available to match the risk groups - that's what seems to be happening albeit in what seems to be a less coordinated way than we would all like.

They've finally came out with an admission of the links to blood clots. The same regulators that said there was no proof then their might be proof and now there is proof.
