Does anyone know if cultural traditions like penitents whipping themselves in public during Holy Week is still permitted or has the government clamped down on the practice?

There was a post on the Manila Times showing the afflicted parading through the streets whipping themselves, observing social distancing of course. Cheaper than going to Angeles and paying a bar girl to do it.  :whistling:
