Clearly, this preacher broke the law.  Pay the fine.  All this could have been avoided if the preacher stayed home and helped the homeless in his community.  You don't have to go to a foreign country

God works in mysterious ways.

I checked their Go Fund Me page.  So far, $30 has been raised with a goal of $15,000.   The story is a little suspicious.  You are helping a man get off drugs, he steals your passport, then pays

I think it's a slow news day if this is significant. If this is the worst guy to wash up on the shore, I think we will be okay.

They are wanting $15,000 according to the GoFundMe page.

Seems like a large amount considering :

  • Fine for Overstaying – (additional) Php 500.00 per month
  • Motion for Reconsideration for Overstaying – (additional) Php 500.00 + Php 10.00 (LRF)
  • Re-issuance of ACR for (2nd entry of every entry after 59 days) – Php 250 [for minors: Php 150]
  • Application fee is only Php 300.00 for overstaying

Maybe they want him to fly first class on the way home? :whistling:

Yeah, I completely misread the post quoting the figure.

Makes it more understandable if not more reasonable!

Reading online there's no other news about this guy and nothing I found in the Philippine news sites.  National news hasn't picked it up either.  Like someone mentioned, there has to be more here.

Going back to the fundraising site and reading it again almost made my eyes bleed.  It's written terribly with no details like the amount of the fines or real proof.  She doesn't even mention her dad's name.

It's no wonder no one but two people have contributed.  One for $10 another for $20.

But they were certainly clear about needing to raise $15,000. :whistling:

Most likely friends or family.

Kind of like the grifter that puts a few dollars into his own hat.  :whistling:
