Who the hell is Doc Tan?

Evidently he's a Doctor from Cebu working in a hospital there :whistling:

What he says in the video doesn't appear to be wrong to me but his views about the effectiveness of Sinovac against the Delta variant aren't peer reviewed research either.

But if what he's saying is true then it would be good news (given the high rate of Sinovac use in the Philippines).

Well when any of these vaccines came out there were no other variants but now many so what happens next is anyone's guess.

Novavax has a new vaccine on the verge of getting emergency approval. While originally developed before Delta, perhaps it will prove useful. It is a subunit vaccine, not at all like the J&J or the mRNA vaccines.

And India are trialing an interesting new vaccine that doesn't use needles for injection, and there is an oral vaccine in development elsewhere.  It's a very fast moving area.
