Not everyone is eligible to get the vaccine is maybe why although the president made an unclear statement yesterday saying to vaccinate anyone who wanted it..

Vaccinate anyone who wants a COVID shot, says Philippines’ Duterte..............

QUOTE

It was not immediately clear if his directive meant that the vaccines could now be given to Filipinos not included in the government’s priority groups.

And then threatens

QUOTE

Duterte ordered village chiefs to prevent those in their communities who refuse to be vaccinated from leaving home.

“I am telling you, don’t leave your homes. If you go out, I will tell the police to escort you back to your house because you are a walking spreader,” Duterte said. “If you don’t want to help the country by getting vaccinated, then better stay in your homes.”

Story

MANILA (Reuters) – Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte ordered his government on Wednesday to open the coronavirus vaccination campaign to anyone who wants a shot as his country scrambles to protect the population from more transmissible variants.

With only 6% of the Philippines’ 110 million people fully vaccinated against COVID-19, millions remain vulnerable to infection. The government is aiming to fully immunise up to 70 million people before the year ends.

“Give the vaccines to those who want to be vaccinated,” Duterte said in a late-night address, expressing concern over the contagious Delta variant, which is ripping through Southeast Asia, now a global epicentre for the virus.

It was not immediately clear if his directive meant that the vaccines could now be given to Filipinos not included in the government’s priority groups.

Given limited supplies, it is prioritising healthcare workers, elderly, people with existing medical conditions and working age adults.

The country has so far reported 119 cases of the Delta variant, first detected in India, but health experts say there could be more undetected cases because of the slow pace of the country’s genome sequencing capacity.

Daily reported infections have recently started to rise, and authorities this week suspended travel from Malaysia and Thailand, as well as tightened curbs in and around Manila.

With more than 1.5 million coronavirus cases and more than 27,000 deaths, the Philippines has the second-worst outbreak in Southeast Asia after Indonesia.

Has anyone mentioned that the current guidance is to not mix the Jabs? That's possibly going to create an even greater logistical problem.

Got my paper- card vaxx I had to go back and ask them to put the batch number on. Now I need to put a mug shot of myself on the back just in case.

I received my second shot yesterday morning.  Today I had the card laminated and hole punched.  I can wear it around my neck if/when I go out.  That way it is protected and I don't have to dig it out of my wallet if asked.

Not really and here I read they are doing trials. Australian trials I believe they say its say its better. Anyway here in Cebu they tell you what vax they are doing that day in each center. For example Astra second shot or J&J first shots. ETC. A lot of J&J sent to the provinces so elderly dont have to make two trips.

It being only a few weeks since they said it was best ever to mix vaccines and only a week since the WHO says don't, I rather think they are just trying to avoid panicking the over 1 million individuals who mixed in that period of time.

Spain and Germany are offering the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccines as a second dose to younger people who have already received a first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, following concerns about rare (but serious) blood clots.

The report I saw was in Canada. Comments seemed less than thrilled, most starting with "Now you tell me" and "A little late". I'd give you a link but the internet seems to not want to give any more recent information. I'm sure if positive information emerges, they will allow it to be seen but it seems to be radio silence since the WHO said don't mix. The old stuff from months ago saying mixing may be better is still up, but it's old. Nothing I can see since the WHO spoke on the subject.

Does your card have a place to add booster shots?  I got the J&J shot so mine has room on the front and back.  But you did give me the ideal to order CDC ID card protector record vaccine card cover holders with some lanyards.  Thanks for that Mike, a great ideal.
