Do Filipinos tend to be hypochondriacs?

My wife is, if I get a cold hers is worse. She had a cold last year and she wanted to go in the hospital in an ambulance.

I refused the ambulance and took her to the emergency entrance, they did chest xrays and other needless test and diagnosed the a common cold. I was a bit concerned as she is asthmatic.

Do Filipinos tend to be hypochondriacs or is my wife's family "special"?

It all depends on understanding the definition of a hypochondriac:

hy·po·chon·dri·ac
/ˌhīpəˈkändrēˌak/
noun
plural noun: hypochondriacs
  1. a person who is abnormally anxious about their health.

When I took my (Filipina) wife to a sinus surgeon, he was overly impressed with how well she has adapted to living with severe sinus problems without overly complaining (or in other words, she was never "abnormally anxious about [her] health."

Of three girls I know including a nurse they all believe you catch the flu from rain not a virus.

How can anybody call that girl a nurse, I hope she never treats me, she has spent useless years  to become nothing.

If you think that nurse is wrong, do not allow yourself to be admitted to an Asian hospital.  Their basic belief is that "Cold and flu are common illness that is found in rainy season and this is usually due to fluctuation in the temperature."

Thus rain = cold and flu click here for link.

Wife bangs on about the rain, and Filipinos hate the rain. Now I know, thanks for sharing.

Umbrella anyone. :umbrella_80_anim_gif:

To be fair, getting wet can lower our body temperature making us more prone to colds and the flu.
