Hi,

My girlfriend is coming to the UK from Manila on the 20th of December. I have tried to purchase

travel insurance in the UK but all of them won’t cover her as she lives in the Philippines.

The type of insurance I need will also need to cover her if she fails her RT-PCR test that

she has to take 48 hours before departure.

Can anyone recommend an insurance company that will do this. Probably based in the Philippines.

Thank you

Steve

I don't want to burst your bubble but it's not straightforward for a single Filipino to exit the Philippines.

With more information you'll get a better answer.  Does she currently have a Visa and history of travel, how long will she be in the UK for, age etc?

She could be interviewed at the departure gate and turned around if she doesn't satisfy the immigration officers questioning.

I've used World Nomads before they cover Filipino citizens via AXA  I think.

Search google "travel insurance Philippines" and you will find a number of companies that sell travel insurance.

Does she have a VISA?  Do you mean cover the cost of the test?  Because if she fails the test she will not be allowed to leave the Philippines.

I assumed he meant the cost of the cancelled flight etc.

Wow … 3 answers so quickly. Thank you.
Yes her tourist Visa came through last week. She is staying with me in the UK for 2 months.

Her PCR tests are booked for 48 hours before departure.
Also her 2 & 8 day PCR tests are all booked in the UK.

She has been to Sweden and Middle East a few times in the last 5 years.

The insurance will need to cover if she fails her PCR test.
Obviously, if she fails then the flight and testing expenses will be lost.

Thats what I need cover for.
All the filipino filipino insurance companies I’ve tried do not cover for

failed PCR tests.

Thanks

I think most airlines will allow cancelation's of flights these days with re booking at another date so doubt if you will lose much there. As for cost of test results, minimal.

It's a positive that she has exited a few times, make sure she has plenty of history with you on her phone, photo of you together and the longer the time frame the better.  My friends partner had her phone searched for a relationship history before she was allowed to leave and that was just to Cambodia.
