Presidential aspirant and close Duterte ally Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. was the first candidate seen visiting the Chinese embassy in what appeared to be an approval-seeking courtesy call.

Bongbong has a good shot at the presidency and seems to be interested in China.  No doubt because the USA was instrumental in unseating his father.

If Marcos Jr is interested in ccp china it's because he's a Marcos. Corruption to an art form. As a US tax payer I would just as well not have any aid going to the Philippines with Marcos ruling.

Very political topic but I will say the president D played his cards well. At times risked so much but it's all political and now near to the end it's time to backtrack a little for the successor to move on. Threats and using one against the other proved good but now we are all friends until think May next year.

I can't comment on Filipino politics as we have Boris Johnson in charge in the UK. :whistling:
