Condo in Tambuli sea-side resort, Cebu

Hello guys,

I have been a few times to Philippines and Cebu in particular the last few years, now looking to buy a condo (idea is to spend a few months and relax every now and then there, not living - yet - there on a permanent basis).

I will fly in soon to arrange viewings, etc., just wondering if anyone knows the Tambuli sea-side resort and what the general consensus would be. Is it any good or should I look elsewhere.

You need to decide if the cost of purchase will be recouped. A quick search shows if you rent the property out when not there the prices seam pretty high for what it is and lots of availability which might not be an issue just now due to covid.

If you have spare cash and just want a stop off place the rooms look OK for a few days as pretty much like a standard box hotel room but 500m from the beach so basically just an apartment with some swimming pools and I'm guessing the view might be of other buildings. 

Research markets, shops, bars etc in the area as there's nothing worse than having to take transport to get anywhere, the novelty will soon wear off. 

I did a lot of research before buying and the old adage of boots on the ground certainly apply. Maybe book a few days stay and picture yourself living there. I struck lucky but some places I looked at and seamed OK now I'm settled looking back I'd never touch now.

I got a decent apartment, not big by any means at 64sqm but it's a loft with bedroom upstairs and living area/kitchen downstairs with great views, breeze and zero chance of a building popping up in front of me. Every ammenity I'd want within a 10 min radius. Good luck with your future decision.

Tambuli... ah I remember that name well. Back in about 1982 I was working in Saudi and took a Philippines vacation, and my first place was a 10 day stay in Tambuli resort . Suffice to say as a sex starved , alcohol starved fellow I had a 10 day party..

Im sure its changed in many ways since then. Back then it was a sleepy little resort on a nice beach. Not too far to the various and numoerous bars etc in the nearby town.  Good luck with the "new" Tambuli.
