About to move to Bohol end of this month from Sacramento california. My thoughts are find a shipping company to handle all the paperwork with customs . I assume I will just get a shipping container pack my bike in a crate load it all together and be done. Is this a fantasy of mine or sound about right? Any company's you'd recommend ?

It is not legal to import a used motorcycle and new ones can only be imported by authorized dealers.  I have heard of people packing a bike in pieces into shipping boxes and re-assembling it here.  I also know it is a big headache to license as it is not legal.  I heard there is a Harley dealership in Manila who can get it in for you.  Not sure how but I am guessing they get it classified as new and bring it in for resale.  Best to check with bikers who have done it successfully and I do not know any who have done it successfully in many years.

Disappointing, but not overwhelming if you are talking about the Harley. Talk to owners before writing off the idea.  This article says there are exceptions so see what you can do:

Thanks I'll check it out. I don't know any owners to ask.

I'm starting to second guess this whole shipping container idea. My Harley seems like it might just be easier to buy one there than the headache of all things you need to do to get it there. The tools and bed shouldn't be a problem though right ?
