Off to a good start :)

Funny little story I thought you guys might get a laugh at

Well I did it . Sold my house in california my truck my Harley and everything I owned except for 5 boxes of my most personally valued items ,  and came to the Philippines. Left Sacramento on American airlines  paid out the ass for 3 extra bags ($200 each) yes i know should of shipped . Well I learned the hard way and definitely know now ....... landed in La to find out flight to Hong honk delayed 18hrs instead of 2 hours so Cathay Pacific switched my flight to Philippines airlines on a direct flight to Manila. Which knocked off about 4 hours on my journey. Feeling pretty good at this point.  Get to Manila and  none of my bags did. All the numbers and emails I could find gave no response so FOR 8 DAYS STRAIGHT I  went to airport each day they had no clue of the location . Then on the 8th day an hour after I left the airport , I received a call that my bags were waiting for me . 🙄  I go straight back since I've been wearing the same underwear for 8 days . Yes I'm to stubborn to buy more just washed them in the sink, Only to find out than 3 of 5 arrived. 🤦 TODAY is DAY 16  gotten used to my    daily routine of an airport trip and hearing we have no clue where your stuff is.. But today was different. TODAY THE SUN WAS SHINING !!! Finally they know where my luggage is.... Me like a kid on Christmas asking his mom if I can open just one on Christmas Eve.. tongue hanging out my mouth  WHERE ? WHERE'D YOU FIND IT HU? HU?.  and the answer I received , I couldn't be mad at .it was two comical... Sir , the remaining two bags  are still in Sacramento.......

Jaw drops and I laugh and say  WTF :).

That's great news and I have a good idea how it feels because I just got a call from Manila Airport. My lost baggage had arrived. I just got to wait a few days for an sms to tell me its on its way to the airport nearby... What a RELIEF.

So, you paid an extra $200 each for 3 bags and two were never loaded.  Yes.  I laughed.  But if it had happened to me, I would be crying.

That is why you should have removed the old SMF bag tags from your last trip!  

Just kidding, but you would be surprised how often that used to happen in the old days.

You guys have way too much patience about lost luggage.  I would have gone psycho with my butt thrown in jail.  Regarding your skivvies, go commando next time.  You can wash yourself in the rain from now on.

I had 5 bags total two were included in the ticket from justfly the other 3 I had to pay 600 for them. I arrived 3-1/2 hrs early when I checked my bags. No reason for any of them not to make the plane. But   8 days later I received 3 and the 2 smallest bags are the ones still in Sacramento  tmti this day 16 days after giving them to American airlines.  But the the 4ft long huge tote with wheels made it.  . I

On my last trip to Cebu my luggage was lost, delayed or 3 days late arriving (all are correct).  My Lyn was mad.  I said we can just go to Robinson's Dept Store and buy everything we need for a few days because we have essentials like medicine in our carry-ons.  No stress.  No problem.  I know that is the way things are in the Philippines.  It has happened to me so many times that I expect it.  When travelling alone I do not even bring luggage, just a carry on and buy what I need on arrival.  I mean, luggage on a visa run sounds so stupid to me.

Many year ago I took a flight from Washington state to Florida.  Luggage did not arrive so I left a message with my phone number and went to the hotel.  Got a call the next day;

Them - We have located your luggage and you should be getting it tomorrow late afternoon. 

Me - Why can't you bring it today?

Them - The luggage went to South Africa and is on the return flight now.

Me - South Africa????

Them - Yes sir but it is currently in the air on return.

Me (being a smart @ss) - Will I get the extra frequent flyer miles for the flight to South Africa and return?  

Them (after short pause) - I will have to check with my supervisor.

I agree luggage on a visa run does seems pointless...

My luggage was my bike and after nearly 3 years of lockdowns and cycling the same road every time I was excited to spend 8 days away cycling Cambodia, Singapore and Australia...and it was superb 

My bike weighed 15kg everything else in hand luggage 3kg
