Other than the costs involved which visa is the better choice for an expat married to a (once she gets is restored) Philippine/US citizen with a dual national child? Rather obvious that our child doesn't need to worry about a visa, nor does the wife once she visa her paperwork.

If your marriage is solid as a rock, most would say the 13a.

Believe it or not, I did try searching for the topic before posting. Maybe it should be sticky?

My research on the subject before I got on the plane to come here really wasn't very helpful. I could see advantages and disadvantages to both. That's why I'm asking the people that probably have experience.

I do know I can stick with my current Balikbayan visa and make an annual visa run.

If your current setup using the Balikbayan works then why change it?

If you feel you must make a change then 13A is probably the best option all things being equal.  By best I guess I mean most popular.

SRRV or 13A visa?

Why not consider getting a Philippine citizenship as another option?

On a personal note, I'm a 13A person who has to pay all of my back 13A Annual Fees whenever I return to the Philippines.

Filipino citizenship is nearly impossible to obtain.

But with the right connections and right amount of money, I tend to believe that it can still be done.
