Good that you've found a place that pleases you Tobsi. No place is perfect but as you travel around the islands you'll find a place that meets your needs. Or find a girl that makes it worthwhile.

That's surprising, those exact same resorts are staples in Mactan - Shangri La, Crimson, Movenpick - and they cater to Koreans and Japanese. Not to mention J-Park, Dusit Thani, and the new casino - Emerald Bay - which will bring in the Chinese.

Avoid hotels and resorts catered to package tours.  Our experience is many are first time travelers unaccustomed to hotel etiquette.  My sister worked her entire life in sales & marketing for the Mandarin chain.  She mentioned the lobby entrance area ceilings are purposely kept low to prevent entry by tour buses.  This is mentioned when tour companies want to negotiate for rooms.  They want F.I.T.'s (Frequent Independent Travelers).
