No the real killer was never caught, arguably because the PNP focused instead on an innocent foreigner who likely would still be jail today if not for a single security cam video that exonerated him.  PNP at its worst.

I was there last month, the first thing I noticed was at least half a dozen black-shirted bouncers, maybe they were on vacation during the 'melee'.

I had heard through the bamboo telegraph that it was an uncle who did it but it seems that whoever did it was never caught.  This is the way of things in the Philippines.

Yes, my thoughts exactly.  A good old fashioned bar fight against 1-2 even 3  opponents is one thing.  Being held down and beaten is another, especially if employees were involved.  He is lucky he only has black eyes and is able to walk and talk.

I hope he learned his lesson about having his pretty young daughter out late at night in a place that is not safe for her and perhaps with many drunk men around.  That is not good parenting no matter who you are.  The first thing he should have done was get her out of there, not demand an apology, especially in PH.  I'll speculate that he was drunk and at that moment made a really bad decision that was more about his pride, not his daughter.

Plenty of foreigners buy their way out of trouble when they should be in jail.
