There are certain things that trigger a rejection they look for. They have heard all the stories. If you have a life in the Philippines, married to a US citizen and you both live here long term the chances of getting a visitor visa is good. Recently married? Not much chance as they'll ask why you don't get a K or other immigrant visa. Raises all manner of red flags. About 20 years ago I did political asylum interviews at sea in the Caribbean for a period of time.
