What the hey – I’ll give it a try – hopefully sober.

I do much better with karaoke when I’m not sober!:mocking:

Lyrics to "I can't sing"

I’d like to find the right words.
Hidden inside a song.
I’d like serenade you
But it would come out wrong.
Maybe you won’t believe me
But singing's not my style
Because I'm so afraid you
Might just laugh and run a mile
I can’t sing, I can’t sing
Open my throat and windows start crack,
I thought a quaver was a cheese based snack
I can’t sing, I can’t sing
There’s a millions songs I have mangled,
Every note in my throat just gets tangled
Sounding more like a cat being strangled, by its own ball of string;
I can’t sing, I can’t sing
I can’t sing, I can’t sing
I can just heard the crowd call out for less
Flat as a pancake in a trouser press
I can’t sing, I can’t sing
Don’t know how my poor granddaddy stuck it
I can’t carry a tune in a bucket
Anybody ‘ll tell you I suck, it’s the god damndest thing
I can’t sing, I can’t sing
It’s a tough handicap
I can’t sing I can’t even rap (break it down y’all)
I can’t dance, it’s too bad
I move worse than a white boys dad.
I can’t tweet, I can’t blog
I look rough as a rover’s dog
I can’t do anything, worst of all I just can’t sing!

Thank you Mike!  Found it on YouTube.  My Filipina swears she can nail it, and she has a few months to practice.  She says (laughing) that she'll sing it in Visayan and Tagalog too.  So when the mike gets handed to me I'll have the option to just pass it to her.  I can just kick back with my stash of Tanduay and San Miguel to share with the fellas. And keep all the other great suggestions on this thread in my back pocket -- for the time when the crowd spots me for the shirker that I am.

Eagles' "Peaceful, Easy Feeling" and "Tequila Sunrise" are pretty easy, or Waylon's "Luckenbach Texas"    Garth Brooks "I've Got Friends in Low Places" is another.   All have the steady tone and not much change throughout noted above by others.   Especially with your gravelly voice, Waylon songs would fit perfectly.,,,,"Mama's Don't Let Your Baby's Grow Up to Be Cowboys".      Funny, although I like some country, it's not my first choice to listen to, but if I was to karaoke, it's probably first choice..

What a great idea.  My wife's dreaming of the day.  If she had her way, the saddle horse would get to the Phils in a Balikbayan box.  I can see my US buddies splitting their guts in laughter, watching a video of me imitating Waylon while dressed in flip-flops, baggy shorts, and a wife-beater t-shirt.

Great Pic!  seeing that does make me miss my Pacific Northwest at times, but still enjoying life and sun in the PI.   Best wishes to y'all going forward!
